Guin Yoest ...

I’m a “Johnny (or Guinie) come lately” as far as ownership of the agency goes. I joined the agency in 1996 after working for insurance companies for 17 years and became co-owner along with Dan a few years ago. Born in Hermann, Missouri, I moved along with my parents and my sister to St. Louis when I was four and grew up and attended school in St. Louis city…I attended Southwest High School. I received my bachelor's degree from what is now Missouri State University and taught 5th grade at Fenton Elementary for 10 years before joining Safeco Insurance Company as an underwriter trainee in 1979. In 1983, I earned the Certified Insurance Counselor designation and I’ve maintained it through continued study since that time.

I met Dan in 1985 and we married in 1986 and moved to Washington, where he was just starting his insurance career. While I wasn’t in the agency from day one, we’ve worked together to build the agency one client at a time always remembering that integrity and trust are the two most important ingredients when you’re talking about other people’s protection.

I help Dan in overseeing the day-to-day operations and enjoy assisting our agents provide appropriate protection for our client’s personal insurance, life insurance and long-term care insurance needs.

Even though we work together every day, I still enjoy spending time with Dan and our daughters who live and work in St. Louis. We have a little Diva Dog name Abby who spends time in the office on occasion and you can meet her if you stop by. I’m a lector at St. Francis Borgia church, a member of the Washington Optimist Club and I sing with the Washington Civic Chorus.
