I graduated from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1976, and worked in the banking industry from 1976 to 1989 rising to the position of President of the BankCenter One, St. Charles location.

In 1989, I decided to make a career change and started my career in insurance by earning my insurance broker’s license for all lines of insurance. I worked briefly for another agency and in 1993, I opened Muehler Insurance Agency in Pacific, Missouri, my home town. When I say, home town, I mean it! I was born and raised in Pacific, and my mother continues to live in the home where I grew up.

In addition to owning my own agency, I remodeled 3 pre-1890 buildings in downtown Pacific; I am Past President of the Pacific Partnership, a group formed to preserve the downtown area of Pacific, Past President of the Pacific Kiwanis and a member and Past Elder of the Pacific Presbyterian Church.

I decided earlier this year that I wanted to do two things; first, I wanted to be able to offer my clients a broader array of products and pricing and second, I wanted to pursue more specifically the benefits side of the insurance industry. My financial background lends itself to the insurance benefits product lines; in particular life, health, long term care, disability, annuities, etc. so it was a natural for me to pursue these areas. I looked for an agency I could partner with and found Dan Yoest Insurance Agency in Washington, Missouri and the rest, as they say, is history. I joined the agency on June 1, 2010 and have since become certified in Long Term Care policies and the LTC partnership program for the state of Missouri as well as attending my annual update for the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation I have held since 2001.

My wife, Valli, and I have been married 22 years and have two beautiful daughters both of whom are currently attending college. In my spare time, I am an avid quail hunter and fly fisherman and am actively restoring 20 acres of native prairie on the family farm.
